“Old Soul in a Young Body” 2 Year Anniversary

“Old Soul in a Young Body” Released 1/27/2015

2 years ago today I put out my debut album “Old Soul in a Young Body”

While creating this project I challenged myself to make a body of work filled with the most personal and honest music I could possibly write. I want to thank you guys for all the support I’ve received from this album. The feedback, streams, downloads, purchases, etc.  It all means more than you can imagine. When I put out the album a part of me thought this was it. The one that was gonna “pop” so to speak. I had this fantasy idea built up in my head that I would put out the album, someone would share it, the right person would hear it, and I would wake up with a million views. Which of course didn’t happen and was totally naive of me to think. So for a while I was upset. Feeling like I put out something so close to my heart and it fell on deaf ears. Looking back I see that’s not the case. Maybe it wasn’t as many ears as I would’ve dreamed of. But, the ones that listened to it, really listened to it, and are still listening.

Two years later it has over:

  • 70k plays on Soundcloud
  • 20k views on YouTube
  • 30k streams on Spotify
  • Shoot 4 The Sky video at 80k
  • So Determined video at 11k
  • and more

But with all that aside, by far the best part is the multiple messages you guys have sent me saying how a song from this album has helped you through a tough time or a difficult situation. That, at the end of the day, means more than any view count or stream revenue.

I learned a lot about patience this past year. Instead of being so unhappy that the album didn’t have as many plays as I wish it did, I looked at what it does have. That’s when I realized it’s all happening. This is the process. Of course I would’ve loved to do crazy numbers overnight. But that’s unrealistic. Things take time. Rome wasn’t built in a day and it also wasn’t built without a lot of hard work. To everyone who has supported me on this journey I really can’t thank you enough. I know I haven’t released much music since the album came out. I just want to let everyone know that a bunch of new music is coming this year. As well as new videos, the podcast & other things that we’ll get into more detail about when it’s time. Thanks again. Let’s continue to grow!
